Gas Station Owner in Mobile, Alabama Makes Racial Comments Against Black People!

We know that the recent devastations of murders that have taken place in America among the Black Community has definitely shook up many as a whole. Many of us in the Black Community do not feel as protected or safe as we once did by the ones we once expected to serve and protect us which happens to be "some" of our local law enforcement officers.

People all over are taking a stand to unite with protests against the violence that has truly put many of us on the edge when we witnessed the live death of Philando Castile from Minnesota. His death among others such as Michael Moore of Mobile, AL and Alton Sterling of Baton Rouge, LA has caused many of us to open our eyes to the realities of what is going on around us with racist police officers.

These matters have many of us to include myself in an outrage and in search of some justice!

With all of the protesting and marching taking place from cities such as Atlanta, Baton Rouge, Mobile, Birmingham and others, it is quite clear to understand that we as a people are refusing to accept these matters to continue without some change in the law to protect black law abiding citizens from racist police officers.

While reading up on my social media page about the daily events going on around the world, I happened to come across a disturbing status of remarks made by one of the owners, "Ali Kazem" of a gas station within my home town, Mobile Alabama. I was shocked reading the statements because when ever I am in town, I always stop at this particular gas station to get my gas before traveling. This gas station which sits at the corner of Azalea Rd and Airport Blvd  next to Popeye's, happens to be one of thee most used gas stations and definitely gathers the most usage from predominately black spenders!

You can only imagine the surprise on my face as I read his comments of how black people couldn't run a business and should just stick to selling weed and playing basketball after a young man stated how we could raise money to open a business.

Below are the comments he wrote and after reading these comments he can be sure to never receive another dime from me. I should hope many of those in the Black Community will be sure to take their money somewhere else since he feels that we are not educated enough to run a business and that we all should just keep playing basketball and selling weed!

The recent murders of innocent black men has caused America to hopefully wake up and see what is really going on around us. It is local gas stations and stores that we as black people walk in to support daily and yet we are being looked down upon as uneducated and being treated like animals. It is time for those in the Black Community to stop spending money in places such as this gas station and other companies that do not value us nor appreciate our presence in their stores. Our ancestors helped to build America off of their backs in the cotton fields, steel mills, and mines yet we are still not given much respect from our fair skinned community. You would think that unlearned individuals such as this gas station owner who happens to be Arab/Muslim would truly know the definition of being racially profiled seeing that fair skinned America thinks all of you are terrorist.

This is a time to pull together among minorities and not pull apart because your complexion seems a little fairer than your brethren who we are told in God's word to love one another as the Most High loves us. I'm sure this young man's family will be happy to celebrate the loss of financial income due to his comments.

  3. It's sad but so true.Racism is so real until it is really unbelievable that we are still living in these times.I don't go into that store but I will definitely make sure that I don't, just because you run a business doesn't mean that you are any better than me or more educated than me.Iam a black woman with a Nursing degree who cares for all races and I don't see color,it's my job to give the best care for my patient's regardless of what.I stand for what's right and refuses to let anyone that is so simple minded think that they can belittle me or mistreat me in any way.we as Blacks must learn to support one another and stick up for each other.

    1. No because we are accepting of all races because we were persecuted and we're the only dummies that will spend our rent money on a pair of 180.00 sneakers or a pair of a 500.00 handbag like we live in the rich and famous and other races fo the bare minimum until they reach their goals.

    2. Thank you for pointing out the most obvious reason why we are looked down upon by other races. Our will power is strong when we are angry, but weak when we are content. We have the means to flip this world up side down if we want to, and everyone out side of this country is waiting for us too do so. The problem is the we are an emotional race of people in this country. We make most choices based on how we feel and not what we know, or what is right. And the sad thing is emotional movements can not be sustained, because the energy to stay when times get hard leaves when our mode changes. As a people we have to see our change based on our goal, and on our current conditions.

  16. Don't let one ignorant person's comment ruin your life! All lives matter and we are on this earth for a short time. We all hope and pray for eternal life. Love everyone and spend eternity in heaven. Offer up all pain and suffering to God. Turn the other cheek if you have to because God does not see color. You are His child!!!!

You are right but all lives do matter but the point of blk lives is because we have never been treated fairly slaves were hung and whipped and raped by slave owner for looking at a white person so all lives didn't and all lives don't matter because if that rang true we wouldn't be in this state of utter disbelief

  18. You stated "With all of the protesting and marching taking place from cities such as Atlanta, Baton Rouge, Mobile, Birmingham and others, it is quite clear to understand that we as a people are refusing to accept these matters to continue without some change in the law to protect black law abiding citizens from racist police officers." I think the key words in this statement is "black law abiding citizens". If people don't respect Police officers and break the law by stealing, assault or whatever else they have done to break the law... regardless of being black, white, indian, female, male then you cannot blame an officer for protecting his life and the lives of the rest of the community.
Law abiding citizens don't have to worry about getting shot by a police officer. If you are stopped by a Police officer for a traffic issue... Police officer says get on your knees, you get on your knees, he says don't move your hands, you don't move your hands, he says lay on your stomach, you lay on your stomach. You fight back, you get hurt. You do what they tell you to do... you go home (maybe with a ticket) but alive and with your family.

    3. That was not the case w/ Castille. What about the child who was shot in her home while she slept. What about a child playing with toy gun, who posed no threat? Respect goes both ways. Officers are not above the law. We pay their salaries. Their job is to protect and serve not disrespect, kill and demean. How much of a black man's life has to be spent on the ground or on his knees. Why is that asked so often of blacks on a routine traffic stop. You are a coward hiding behind anonymity. You b!tches stay on black sites trolling because you are nervous about us mobilizing and organizing ourselves.

  29. Why would he even say that shit? Yeah some people might not go to his store bc he has the look of our recent terrorists, maybe he's not one. Maybe he is... but either way some people stay away bc of what his race has done. Yes, some black people have done some stupid shit, but not all black people hate cops and are racist. Same as whites. We can't blame an entire race for the actions of a few ignorant people. But we do... guilty by association. Americans need to come together, all americans, no matter race, and show people that, we as a community, will not be beaten down for the actions of a few, no matter what color your skin is.

  30. While you may have a very valid point that this particular individual made a racial remark and appears to have a negative attitude about people based on skin color. You also painted all light skinned people with the same wide brush.

Please consider how your comments could be considered racial as well.

It is not a skin color as a whole that is racial it is the individuals who hold those beliefs.

When everyone stops labeling an entire race and understands the each individual is responsible for his or her actions, deeds, and words, we can begin to work together the create a better environment for all.

Just as it is not all skin colors that believe the same, it is also true of individual officers of the law and governing officials.

It is time to stop painting the world of individuals with a wide brush and remember to treat people with respect and dignity regardless of what they look like.

  32. Y'all know the guy who made the remarks does not own the store. He doesn't even live in mobile he lives in Tennessee . He was fired from that store about two years ago when he got arrested in front of the store. The things he said was awful but just wanted to shed light on the fact that he is not the owner nor is he in Alabama. I think the best solution to a lot of problems is show and prove meaning let's come together not just when there is a crime committed against our race from another race stop hating each other for no reason stop killing our own and protest when our race kill each other and people scared to say who did the killing but know who did it. Let's come together on all problems that we have in our community not just times like this. Those officers we're dead wrong and the world know it , I want to actually see us come together not just when we are forced to in circumstances like we are under in the world now . Stop killing our own and protect each other, than others will stop killing us cause we protecting each other with unity . Our people went through to much in the past and still going through it just for us to live. Let's stick together and stay together not just under bad circumstances . One thing for certain other races protect their own we need to start doing the same.
