Get To Know: Tanisha D. Davis - CEO/Creator of #Starrdom100

Mini BIO

Tanisha D. Davis was born on February 29, 1984 in Mobile, Alabama.  At only the young age of six, she found herself growing up in and out of Foster Care homes and dealing with a host of family issues. It was at the age of 13 that she made a decision to not allow her childhood experiences to break her. She began discovering her passion for writing and used that as a way to escape the harsh realities of her life and reach others in the process. Tanisha attended the Mobile County Training Middle School in Mobile, Alabama and was constantly recognized there for her gift to write poetry and more. She was selected to perform her poetry daily during the morning announcements and promoted to be in The Gifted Program for youth who held a 4.0 grade average, as well as chosen to be a member of the National Junior Honors Society.  By high school, after being placed back in Foster Care by a relative, Tanisha did not allow that to stop her from reaching others in similar situations. At the age of 17, she served one year as the President over the Gulf Coast Therapeutic Independent Living Program, in Mobile, Alabama, which is designed to motivate teens who were currently living in Foster Care, on how to live a successful life outside of the system. At the age of 19, she went on to speak at Women’s Conferences in local churches within her community.
After high school, Tanisha D. Davis attended college at the University of South Alabama in pursuit of a degree in Print Journalism and later transferred to Faulkner University, where she obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. In 2011, she saw the joy in continuing to encourage others and started her own blog called Starrdom100. The blog grew to over 100 thousand viewers and led to her launching her own blog radio show, which has covered topics on overcoming daily life issues as well as featured Celebrity Interviews & more.  Tanisha was determined more than ever to spread her life triumph to the world and in 2013 she reached out to the producers of the ‘Iyanla Fix My Life’ show to seek help with developing a better relationship with her mother and siblings for closure.  She received a phone call from one of the Producers of the show who was interested in her story, however the show was not able to take place because her mother did not desire to participate. During this time she also reached out to find her biological father and was successful after 28 years! Being a single mother with a young daughter growing up beside her, Tanisha knew that she had to keep pushing.
In 2016 Tanisha Davis obtained a writing position with Kontrol Magazine in Atlanta, Georgia as a Lifestyle Writer. This opened more doors and by 2017, she soon found herself being asked by a client all the way from New York to participate in her own film production which consisted of flying out to Los Angeles, CA to film for Celebrities such as, Hazel- E, Lil Fizz, Nikko London and more.
Little did she know that more clients were eyeing her in the process; Actor/Comedian Brandon T. Jackson reached out to her to come aboard to personally assist him with his youth foundation, designed to assist youth all across the US that come from low income environments.

Although early parts of her life have been a devastating struggle, Tanisha D. Davis has continued to pursue her dreams and create open paths for those who desire to do the same. She is the true definition and example of a woman on a mission to help others see that life’s tragedies do not have to stop you from being the best that you desire to be!
