"Moments Of A Hate Crime" (Poetry) By: Author Tanisha D. Davis

 "Moments Of A Hate Crime"

"I'm pretty sure this won't be the first time
That people fall victim to a hate crime

See we are sadly so wrapped up in finding a solution to eliminating the world of the things we consider to be pollution,

Who gives me or you the right...
to decide who gets to come home at night?

One lady had a son hiding in a bathroom stall
He was sending messages for help
While his mom kept waiting for that "I'm fine" phone call,

One father had a daughter he hadn't spoke to in a while
but he got that long awaited call and it wasn't from his child

One sister, one brother, one cousin, one mother
all awaited to see the face of their loved one to unite
but received bad news because someone felt it was time to end their night

Tweets posting frantically across media pages
People voicing their opinions in outrages

Christians calling it an act of God...But if its God's wishes then are we to say the same about the 4 Black Girls bombed in a church house? Are we to say the same about the Charleston shooting of the nine? Was that too a God allowed crime?

Sadly these are the last moments and last days
where we have people who feel the need to decide who gets to die and who stays

I can only imagine that son in the stall
telling his mom, "I'm gonna die"
I can only picture that tear forming in his eye
As he saw the face of such an angry guy
Pull a trigger and he didn't even understand why

I'm pretty sure this won't be the first time
That people fall victim to a hate crime

See we are sadly so wrapped up in finding a solution to eliminating the world of the things we consider to be pollution.

No matter your race
No matter your color
There will always be someone searching for a reason to do everything but love one another."

"Fool's Paradise" (Finale Part 7) {Short Story} By: Author Tanisha D. Davis

The guy pushed him down to the ground.

It was dark but the light from a nearby post revealed just enough of his face for me to cringe.

It was Malik!

I stared in shock because I was trying to figure out how he had found out about Malik. I looked back at the SUV and wondered could Jared have gave him the information. This could not be possible and the last thing I ever wanted was Malik to get hurt behind something that involved me.

Deon had a smirk on his face while staring at me. I looked at Malik who appeared bruised and he refused to even look up at me. It was as if he felt ashamed as a man to now be on his knees before me and unable to help me.

"Why do you have him? I asked Deon. "He has done no wrong, so let him go". I pleaded.

"I will let him go when you give me back my money that you stole". Deon stated.

"I don't have any money that belongs to you". I replied. At least what was left of his money had been invested into my home and other funds. I would never give that up to him. Yet I wondered would my own selfish ways risk the life of a man I loved dearly.

"No money, No boyfriend". Deon stated while motioning for the guy in the white blazer to come forward. The guy grabbed Malik up off the ground as if he were nothing but paper and forced him back into the vehicle.

I had to do something and something fast.

I pulled the trigger! I fired two shots at Deon and quickly shot the guy in the white blazer. I ran over to the other side of the car to see the guy trying to stop the bleeding coming from his shoulder and before he could reach for his gun. I shot him in the face.

 I helped get Malik free.

A door slammed and the car sped forward just as I was pulling Malik from the back seat.

I looked around to see Deon missing from the spot where I had shot him. A trail of blood led to the car.

He had been hit twice so I knew he wouldn't get far. More importantly I couldn't let him get far enough to live and tell about it.

"Hurry Up Malik". I yelled as we rushed to my SUV. I cranked up and stepped on the gas as I followed Deon.

It was time for this nightmare to be over for good.

I looked briefly at Malik who looked like he was still trying to make sense of it all. In the rear-view, I could see Jared staring at me with his beady eyes and signs of fear.

Were they both afraid of me now? I was not sure but I was oddly in the midst of two men I had dealings with. Both riding at a high speed and watching me chase another lover from my past.

I had death on my mind. I was prepared to take a life to save my own and others.

I sped up trying to get close enough to his vehicle to keep an eye on him. Deon was swerving in and across lanes down the dark road.

"Slow down Morgan please". Malik mumbled.

"I'm not about to let him get away!" , I yelled back at Malik.

Deon swerved again and exited the road hitting a tree.

I looked around to make sure there were no other vehicles in sight before exiting the road behind him.  I saw no one and I didn't want to hesitate much longer to give opportunity of being seen. I jumped out of the SUV and ran up beside him with my pistol near my side. I observed the road to make sure that nobody was walking or in the wooded area.

As I approached the driver side of the car, I could see Deon with his head resting against the glass.

I pointed the gun at his head in close range. I fired one shot and watched as blood splattered among the shattered glass.

I ran quickly back to the SUV and sped off into the night.

The drive was silent. I looked over at Malik who was just staring straight ahead.
Jared sat still staring at me in the back.

I drove thinking finally it was all over. Everyone was going to be safe now.

This nightmare was over and I could go back to my peaceful life that I had created.

"One word of any of this Jared and I will see to it that you never speak to anyone again". I yelled back at him.

Jared didn't say a word.

Malik didn't say a word.

It was all over.

Malik reached over and grabbed my hand and squeezed it.

I felt safe.

I thought to myself. If the days after this night would change my relation with Malik. I wondered if Jared would just let me be or try another way to expose or harm me.

What if Jared told?! He would bring me harm just as Deon had. I wanted the perfect life. I didn't want that risk. I took a trail off the road  through a wooded area.

"Where are we going?" Malik asked.

"We are going to live the perfect life". I mumbled softly.

I parked the vehicle and got out. I opened the back door.

"Get out!". I told Jared.

"Wait Morgan what are you doing", he began questioning me.

"Making sure you never attempt to ruin my life." I responded.

"I'm not going to tell anybody anything I swear", he started whining.

I couldn't trust him anymore after what he had done to me with Deon.

"Start running". I told him.

Jared stared at me in confusion.

"I said start running!". I yelled again.

Jared began to run as fast as he could towards the main road.

I aimed and shot him in the back of the head.

I grabbed a branch and began covering up where my foot had made tracks. I drove up onto the rocky area of the path back onto the road and pressed the gas petal down to the floor. the SUV sped forward moving up to 85 miles per hour.

"I need you to help me wash and clean this vehicle". I told Malik.

"Okay". he responded softly.

"Everything is going to be fine now baby".I said while reaching to grab Malik's hand.

Malik looked over at me and then back at the road.

I could tell he was now afraid of me, but I could never hurt him. I loved Malik and I knew he would never tell a soul to bring harm my way.

Alicia Keys's Make-Up Free Moment Inspires Other Women To Go Bare!

Alicia Key's blew up Social Media recently as she released photos of herself wearing no make-up. Keys stated to her make-up artist, "no thank you" during her preparation for her music video, "In Common".
According to a personal essay Keys did for Lenny Letter's May 31st edition, she stated that she felt "the strongest, most empowered, most free, and most honestly the most beautiful that she had ever felt".

Alicia stated that she was simply just wearing a scarf and a sweatshirt, while planning to just get ready at the photoshoot when her photographer, Paola Kudacki, decided to capture her just as she was for the shoot.

Alicia Key's stated, "I just don't want to cover up anymore".

I adore this major move by her because so many women are caught up in the trends of what social media has proven to determine true beauty. We are covering up every aspect of ourselves in order to please the eyes of society. Society has made it seem that not having perfect eye brows or a perfect skin tone is unacceptable.

I recently went to social media and posted a picture of me bare faced to show the world that I just as Alicia Keys, was not ashamed of my skin.
I revealed the plain thin eyebrow-ed version of myself to all of my followers & friends to prove that even without make up I still felt beautiful.
While making such a big leap to reveal more of me, I challenged other females to share their photos as well of their bare faces and the responses were amazing!

I'm not against make-up but I do feel its okay to show the world the natural beauty of you! I'm inspired along with others by this brave move of Alicia Keys and I hope to see other talented artist step out to encourage women all over that we don't care about your flaws.

 You are still beautiful!

City of Mobile Plans To Unite With A Big Splash!

Travel further down South on I-65 and you will find yourself coming through the beautiful city of Mobile, Alabama!

Mobile is known to many as the "Port City" and is also the birth place & home of Mardi Gras. When visitors come through Mobile, they take pleasure in enjoying fresh seafood and beautiful beaches!

Yet this year the beautiful "Port City" has encountered a numerous amount of homicides. I spoke with one police officer who mentioned that it's impossible to keep count of the homicides happening lately. I managed to go online to the City Of Mobile Police Department's website to look up the crime statistics thus far for the city and although it seems that this year is possibly lower than most, the crime rates which totaled all together were 3,808 as of April this year. These crimes have still managed to have a massive effect on family members who have lost loved ones to the violence.

One young man is seeking to unite the city and prove that Mobilians know how to pull together and have fun despite all of the violence.

Mario Yow, Sr (38) is a native of Mobile, Alabama and is planning a city wide event that will pull everyone together on July 2nd!
Yow whose cousin (Antonio Yow) was murdered back in May of 2015 due to gun violence has since then been busy trying to assist in the communities to stop the violence.

I had the chance to speak with Yow who informed me that he is planning a 1st ever City Wide Water Gun/Balloon Fight to unite the city of Mobile on  July 2nd!

Yow is currently seeking the participation of the entire city as well as city workers from the Mobile Police Department and Mobile Fire & Rescue Department to come together and join in as we make the city fun by proving that we can help end the violence!

Yow is hoping that city council and even Mayor Sandy Stimpson will join in by tossing a water balloon!

Plans are in hope to have the large event sponsored at the Mobile Fair Grounds.

Yow is striving to help make a difference in the "Port City" and is currently awaiting approval for the event from city officials! We hope that the mayor will join in to approve for the event because the "Port City" is more than just a city of violence, it is home to many and a city of love and unity!

Let's wet up the city on July 2nd & unite Mobile, Alabama!

"When Being A Good Woman Isn't Enough"

She's the woman who has been disappointed time after time. She is the one who doesn't believe in being bitter about her past misfortunes so she continues to give each guy she meets a fighting chance. She believes each time within her heart that this guy is going to finally be the one.

Yet each time she finds herself deleting another number from her phone.

She begins to think that there must be something wrong with her.

She says to God, "I'm not like a lot of women". She sheds tears while kneeled down in prayer asking God to send her a man that will love her and cherish the woman she is because she is overwhelmed with being hurt and is slowly losing hope.

Every guy that she meets describes her personality in full and says that she is the type he would like to marry, yet his actions within weeks time prove that his mind is far from seeking her hand in marriage.

She takes long walks in the park and observes the happiness of others and even though she doesn't fully know their story, she thinks at least they have somebody. She starts to doubt the whole idea of love because she sees her friends and family mistreat their spouses yet they are still together.

She says to herself, maybe that's what men really want.

Maybe men don't want the understanding, faithful, not always in the street type of woman.
Maybe men want the lying, cheating, dramatic woman instead because those are the ones she notices they chase the most.

She feels that God is just ignoring her wishes and is blessing everyone else with what they desire all while making her sit and watch it unfold alone.
So cruel she thinks.

She has had enough and feels that being a good woman just really isn't enough anymore.
She is giving up and the next guy who comes her way won't even get a fair chance anymore because she will assume that he too just wants to take advantage of her and she is done with having her
flowers crushed.

If you can relate to how she feels then I want to share some powerful words of inspiration for you.

Yes you are an amazing woman and you are exactly the type of woman that some men need when they decide to take that long walk down the aisle. You have observed everyone and everything but have you observed the most beautiful thing in the midst of your misfortunes.

I always say to see the positive within the negative.

You were not made for "every" guy. You were specially made for that "one" guy. You see God did not pull multiple ribs from Adams' side, he only pulled out "one" rib for Adam. There is a man after God's own heart who is seeking you just as hard as you are seeking him but you have to fight through all the distractions to see him. In other words you got to quickly free your path of those who mean you no good.

How can he find you if someone is occupying your mind and your apace. It is like trying to get to a door but a brick wall is blocking the way. Your designed husband can't see you because there is a wall in the way. That wall is the counterfeits that you keep allowing to reside in front of the door.

During this single time in your life, you must keep your path free of any blockage and focus on nothing but God and God alone.

God says to seek him first and all other things will be added unto you.

Have you been keeping your mind and heart on God or on the distractions?

I love the story of Ruth as many do because Ruth was focus on working in the field so that she could eat and survive. She was not looking for Boaz. She was not distracted by anyone. She was simply focus on a goal which meant gaining the nourishment needed for her body. Yet while staying focus on her goal...Boaz had taken notice of this woman who was not paying him no attention. Boaz went off to other men to inquire of her. he then started finding little ways to bless her by leaving food trails here and there along her path.

The man that God has for you will find a way to not only be part of your life but bless your life. He will give you that fulfillment that you seek for your body, mind, and soul. He will not come to take from you but to add to you, just as Boaz did for Ruth.

There is nothing wrong with you. You are simply just not right for some of the people you have allowed to distract you. Your patience has not gone unnoticed by our Heavenly Father and there is one who will come that will help you see just how amazing you are.

Joseph went through years of chaos & neglect before he was exalted up as a High Priest in Egypt.
David was ignored and seen as just a little lad only fit for tending sheep but had no idea he was destined to be a King.
Job was a man who lost everything he had but was later rewarded with double for all his trouble.

So just because your story is not starting out as peachy as the next woman does not mean your ending will be a sad one.

Hold your head up high and stand on the promise of God.
Doubt is just a trick of the enemy to make you think that the God we serve does not love you or want the best for you. Your good will not have been in vain.

Your King is coming but will you be ready when he arrives or will you be distracted by another?!

Memorial Weekend Networking with Sky Keeton!

Many spent Memorial Day weekend among family while others such as myself had the amazing pleasure of spending the day with the crazy, cool and talented Sky Keeton in Georgia!

Many of you remember a recent interview I had on my Blog Radio Show back in February with Keeton, as we discussed his latest music productions with two legendary rap artists Kurupt and Dr. Dre, as well as his former relationship with the late great Lisa Lopes (Left-Eye) of the group T.L.C. (http://www.blogtalkradio.com/starrdom100)

I arrived in Alpharetta, Georgia at the home of Keeton's uncle, Ricky Fontain, who is also in the music industry.  The grill was smoking with great food and I was able to meet some amazing people. Sky treated me just like family and I felt like I was at home although being approximately six hours away from family during this holiday weekend.

The day only got better as Sky showed me one of his favorite spots to eat at so we headed over to grab some great food at Mari's Cucina & Social House located at 2100 Ray Moss Connector in Johns Creek, Georgia. I ordered the baked meatballs topped with an amazing sauce and melted mozzarella cheese, and man oh man if you enjoy a homemade taste then this is the place! They were the best meatballs I had ever tasted from any restaurant so I highly recommend you all to go check them out if you are ever in the area. I give them two thumbs up! The staff was also pretty cool so you can expect excellent service and even a surprise selfie with a waiter! If you dine there then be sure to tell them that Starrdom100 Blog sent you!

I had a great experience following Keeton around for the day and meeting some really cool people. If anyone was to ask about who he was as a person then I would have nothing but great things to say about him. A day with Sky is like a day with that really cool cousin who everyone knows and respects. There were no dull moments with him, and although highly talented vocally, Keeton was just an ordinary guy making moves for himself and his family.

As the night fell and the day came to an end, I watched this cool guy tone down and embrace his son. You could see him literally melt with his son and that showed that he was not only just a business man but also an amazing father!

Be sure to keep up with musical artist/song writer Sky Keeton by following him on Facebook. Also word is from the man Sky  himself that he is working along with the R&B artist Carl Thomas, famously known for hits like, "I Wish", "Emotional", and "Summer Rain". Carl Thomas is currently preparing for a hot comeback album soon!

I couldn't have spent my Memorial Day weekend any better than rocking it out with a guy who pretty much knows everyone!

"Fool's Paradise" {Part 6} (Short Story) By: Author Tanisha D. Davis

"I wouldn't finish that statement if I were you," I smiled at him with the gun pointed his way.

     I fired two shots.

Jared fell back into the bed. It took him a few minutes to notice that the shots fired had been into the pillow next to his head.

"Look Morgan, I know you upset and all but please think this over before you do it". He began to plead after noticing he was not shot.

"I have thought this over Jared and I'm going to allow you the chance to redeem yourself or the next shot will be into your heart". I responded.

Jared sat up straight in his bed and large amounts of sweat had started forming on his forehead. "What do you need from me?" he asked.

"I need the information on Deon and where he is currently residing". I said while tossing him a notepad. "You are going to call him now and get the information I need and then you are going to assist me with making sure he disappears for good."

"Look I don't want to be part of this,", He stated while pushing the notepad carefully back my way.

"You made yourself part of it when you snitched me out and took money from Deon, So I don't want to hear it!" "Now pick up the phone slowly and call him, and if you dial the police I swear on my granny that I will kill you!". I shifted the direction of the gun and watched as he frowned and reached for his cell phone.

I watched and listened as he carried a brief conversation with Deon and lied about having more information on me to give him. They arranged to meet up and Jared tossed the cell phone back down on the bed.

He reached and wrote down some numbers and words on to the notepad and pushed it slowly back towards me.

I grabbed the notepad and stared at the information.

"Okay lets get ready to go meet up with...".

Before I could finish my statement,  Jared had leaped off the bed at me and knocked me to the floor. The gun slid out of my hand and I gasped as his fist landed hard into my side.

Jared  tried to get to the gun.

I was trying to catch my breath but went for his face and grabbed his ear pulling hard as I could as he was slipping out of my reach. I dug my nails deep into his earlobe as he turned to hit me again.

He missed this time and his fist slammed hard into the wooden floor. He yelled out and grabbed his fist. I took my shoe and kicked him hard in the face.

Jared fell back, moaning while holding his left hand.

I grabbed the gun and pointed it at him.

"Nice try Jared". "You just made things worst for yourself."

I took the gun and hit him across the face with it.

"Get Up" I yelled at him.

I watched him struggling to get up with blood coming down the side of his eye and a swollen hand.

I reached in his closet and tossed him his jacket, then grabbed the notepad.

"Let's go" I yelled while pointing him out the room door with the gun pressed into his back.

It was time to go find Deon.

"You better not even think about yelling or running because it will be a brief cry."
I stated while reminding him to keep the course.

I knew he would try something while I was driving so i was already prepared. I looked around me and reached in my black bag for a pair of hand cuffs. "Put your hands behind you" I yelled at him as he obeyed and moaned louder as I tugged on his now swollen hand. I cuffed him.

"I'm sorry Morgan" he said softly while trying to shift in his seat.

"Be sorry for yourself because you did this to you, I didn't ". I responded and keyed into my GPS the address on the paper.

The address sounded familiar but I kept following the instructions.

We got onto the ramp heading North on I-65 towards the Atlanta- Gadsden exit.

"You better than me Morgan, you don't have to do this". Jared mumbled from the back of the SUV.

I ignored him and kept driving while exiting the interstate near what appeared to be an old factory.

I noticed that my cell phone was flashing blue. I swiped across the screen to notice over ten missed calls from Malik.

Malik would just have to wait. The sooner I could handle Deon, the sooner I could get back to the peaceful life I had created for myself.

I noticed a white car parked near the back of the factory and I pulled up and parked a few feet behind it.

I decided to leave the vehicle running but cut off the headlights. The door to the white car opened up and I saw a guy wearing a white blazer jacket step out the car. He then walked to the back of the car and opened the door.

Deon stepped out the car smiling.

I felt my stomach cringe as it did just before he was planning to hit me. I felt the pistol between my thighs all over again and I shivered. Now was not the time to be scared no more. I was going out with a banger and ready to do the time if it meant making sure Deon was dead for real this time.

The accidental shooting had become a relief period for me and I wanted that relief again with visible gun shots to his head.

I grabbed the pistol and stepped out of the vehicle.

"So we meet again Deon". I said.

He stared back at the guy who had just opened the door and then back at me.

"I kind of figured you would pull a stunt like this baby girl". he said and started laughing.

I pointed the gun at him.

The guy in the white coat started to reach into his coat but Deon stopped him.

"She ain't about to do nothing", he said talking to the guy and laughing at me.

"I wouldn't be to sure about that" I said.

"Then kill me already, but once you do that then just know that your boy here will follow right behind me". he said

"I don't care about Jared". I said still pointing the gun at him.

"Who is Jared?" Deon asked. He instructed for the guy to open the other door of the car.

I watched and kept the gun pointed at Deon as I saw someone else slowly getting up out of the opposite side of the car.

The guy pushed him down to the ground.

It was dark but the light from a nearby post revealed just enough of his face for me to cringe.

It was Malik!
